State of the Nation
This altered book is a one-of-a kind artist book. Altered Hammond World Atlas from 1953. 12.5″h x 9.5″w x .75″ d closed. 12.5″h x 19″w open.
All the states in the union featured in the atlas are torn and rearranged to call attention to the fractured state of the nation in 2019. Black and white photographs of particular sites, previously in the index, have been collaged into the body of the book. It is a call-to-action to knit our country together.
