Portrait of Oysterville

Cyanotypes

12″ x 9″

The Long Beach Peninsula on the southern coast of Washington state is a diverse and rich ecosystem with a plethora of native plants that are unique to the estuary, the 28-mile long beach and the verdant land in between. Over the course of a month, I gathered plants, rocks, driftwood, oyster shells, feathers and the like and created cyanotypes on antique Italian manuscript paper that I had acquired in Rome some years before. This is a selection of a series of 35 cyanotypes.
