Road Trip

Museum of Outdoor Art, Littleton, CO

A site-specific installation measuring 23’ diameter by 8’ high exploring the southwest Colorado landscape. 2007

Created as a site-specific installation for the Museum of Outdoor Art’s ArchiTEXTure: Reinventing the Book exhibition, Road Trip uses a vernacular rendition of the southern Colorado landscape as the backdrop against which a series of vignettes occur. This visual narrative creates a dialogue with the viewer that transforms the experience into a 360-degree storyline. The horizon line circumnavigates the space, creating an endless loop that plays with perspective and relationships. The linear and sequential nature of the imagery relates to the book form and can be read backwards or forwards, though without text, like a palindrome.
